President Calvin Coolidge Birthplace

Take Route 4 East to the junction of Route 100 South. At the junction is a General Store. Take a right onto Route 100. You are now in the lake region of the Killington area. In the town of Plymouth, you will take a left onto Route 100 A. Stay on Route 100 A until you get to the Homestead.

The Coolidge Homestead includes the house Calvin grew up in and was sworn in as President, a beautiful church, the Vermont Farmer's Museum and the Plymouth Cheese Factory. There is a great spot on the hill to hike up and have a picnic. The Homestead is open from late May to mid October.

Nearby is the Coolidge State Park where you can hike one of it's many trails. There are easy hikes here. Also you can Mountain bike on one of the many old roads at this park. Gold panning is also popular at this park.

If you continue out of this area on Route 100A you will meet up with Route 4 at the Bridgewater Junction Store. You may then head back home on Route 4 West or go into Bridgewater to shop at the Bridgewater Mill Mall. This is an old mill that was renovated into shops. There is a small museum located downstairs.
